Building Alliances: 3D Assets to Present + Summary

The main assets I have chosen that would be considered finished on my end.

Lydia's medkit renditions:
I had her create different variations as not all medkits would be the same colour most likely.
However the symbol for medical care is what stayed consistent and I was aiming for something like this.

Sam's 3D Character Assets:
Sam worked on the character you will be playing as, including what may be visible such as a knife, hand and the helmet worn. These assets would be visible in a few segments (possibly minigames or tasks that will change the game from a top down game to an interactive 1st/3rd person for tasks like opening safes, cutting vines etc.

REFLECTIVE STATEMENT::
This module has been a valuable learning experience, full of challenges and personal growth. It was a journey of trial and error, navigating the balance between academics and real-life commitments, while constantly battling my own discipline. Group work, which isn’t always my preferred approach, highlighted how much I value independence and individual pace. However, this project allowed me to fully acknowledge and reflect on these feelings.

The key struggles I faced included:

  • Consistency
  • Communication
  • Time management
  • Discipline

These aspects were consistently tested throughout the project. If I didn’t communicate effectively, the team wouldn’t know where I was with my work, and if I lacked discipline, progress would suffer. Even balancing this project with other academic commitments, I can recognize moments where I could have contributed more as the 3D Lead Artist. For example, there were definitely times where I had grown distant and forgot to give responses to people's questions or work that they have made. This would naturally cause the work flow to decrease or create a bit of a communication issue with my team. This was something that eventually got worked on as I got faster with those replies and I made it a point to attend all planned meetings. There were also cases where someone else had been somewhat difficult to get in contact with, so I took it upon myself to do research on mutations that could link to the sea creatures of our game. However the one problem was simply forgetting to post it in my blog or to the team so they would also be aware of what I had done. Simple things such as these are what would put a setback on work flow.

That said, I’m proud of the team’s dedication, especially considering the personal challenges they faced. I feel I did my part, though there's always room for improvement. Moving forward, I aim to apply these lessons to prepare myself for a professional, industry-standard environment.
